    Summers-Off Program

Work just nine months out of the year and be home with your family

Nurses, imagine spending more time with your family. Our summers-off program requires you to make a nine-month work commitment per year. Typically, your schedule would be September 1 through May 30 of each year. However, we may be able to flex your schedule based on your specific needs and that of your unit.

Base rate of pay is based on your experience. Benefits are based on your status. For example, if you work full time from September through May, you’d receive the complete regular full-time benefits package. During the summer, your benefits would typically stop. If you need your health benefits continued, you’d have the option to pay at a rate equivalent to COBRA eligible individuals. Deductions for voluntary benefits such as the dental plan would need to continue through your off months. Paid time off (PTO) and other benefits would be discontinued through your non-working months.

You have another option with the summers-off program. You could work full time during your nine months and go part time during the other three. Your benefits would be handled similarly to any employee who transfers from full-time to part-time work, in that you would have a health plan contribution, prorated PTO hours and a loss of certain other benefits.
